Better Organic Business Links

BOBL logo
The Better Organic Business Links (BOBL) project was set up to support organic businesses across Wales to improve their profitability, sustainability and community engagement. BOBL delivered a range of activities such as training, consumer and community engagement, educational visits and producer supply chain projects.

Background: BOBL began in 2009 and was awarded £2 million of funding from the Supply Chain Efficiencies Scheme, as part of the Welsh Government Rural Development Plan for 2007-2013 and was extended for an additional two years. It concluded on 31 August 2015. BOBL worked in partnership with a number of key industry specialists. These included organic businesses, the OCW partners: ADAS, The Organic Research Centre and IBERS, Aberystwyth University, in addition BOBL collaborated with specialist consultancies to support the development of the organic sector in Wales.

The BOBL project, and with it the funds to employ dedicated staff at OCW, came to an end on 31 August 2015. OCW is continuing, albeit as a more 'virtual' centre, supported by its partners ORC, IBERS and ADAS with continuing Welsh Government funding. For more information on the achievements of the BOBL project please visit the legacy website www.boblproject.org.uk or search for published reports on the 'Publications' link on this website.
